TEMPLE TERRACE, FL — Hillsborough County residents can learn about a project to alleviate chronic flooding on a section of Temple Terrace Highway during a public information meeting on Monday, May 21. Hosted by Hillsborough County Public Works, the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and take place at the Temple Terrace Public Library, 202 Bullard Parkway in Temple Terrace.

The meeting will have an open-house format, with project displays available for viewing. Attendees can review, ask questions, and comment on the $1.8 million Capital Improvement Project, which is scheduled to begin in late 2018.

The project will construct a new stormwater pumping station adjacent to an existing County stormwater pond located along the south side of Temple Terrace Highway near 78th Street. It also involves installing approximately 3,000 feet of storm pipe from the pond west along Temple Terrace Highway and then north along 78th Street to connect to an existing outfall. The project will improve safety for the traveling public by reducing the frequency of flooding along Temple Terrace Highway.

Information presented at the meeting will also be available on the Temple Terrace Highway Drainage Improvements webpage.
